Ubisoft has announced the year-one roadmap for its long-awaited pirate title Skull and Bones, with an open beta scheduled for early February.

The details:

  • The publisher confirmed in a new blog post that the open beta will take place from February 8 to 11 on PC via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, with the game available for preload on February 6th. It will be crossplay across all platforms, with progress carried over to the full game, which will be released later that month.

  • The beta will allow players to explore the open seas and the East Indies for the first time and the Red Isle and the African Coast, previously featured in closed beta tests. Players can also reach the rank of Brigand (Tiers 6 rank 1) and complete the main campaign up to the "Exterminate the Rat" mission.

  • Ubisoft has also revealed its year-one roadmap in a new video, which includes new endgame content, the ability to battle legendary pirates, world events, and even the opportunity to build an empire. PvP will also receive attention later in the year, with new game modes such as high-stakes wagers, in which players can gamble their in-game wealth in battles against others.
