The critically acclaimed 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider has been released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in a surprise "shadow drop.”

The details:

  • Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is now available for $19.99 USD on the eShop, with a 10% launch discount available until November 24. The Definitive Edition includes the single-player story, PvP multiplayer, and all previously released DLC for the game, including six outfits for Lara Croft, eight multiplayer maps, and four multiplayer characters. The bundle also features digital versions of the Tomb Raider: The Beginning comic, the Tomb Raider: The Art of Survival art book, and the developer video series The Final Hours of Tomb Raider.
  • Players who own the digital Switch version of Aspyr’s Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will receive an additional 10% discount, while players who own Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered will receive a further 10% discount. These discounts stack, which can bring down the price by 30% in total to just $13.99.
  • The reboot was met with universal acclaim upon its release back in 2013 and saw the series head in a more grounded and gritty direction. It followed the journey of a young Lara Croft as she survives on a dangerous island after being shipwrecked. The title was followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018, both of which were received well by critics and players.
