Xbox’s head of game studios Matt Booty has said that The Elder Scrolls 6 “looks amazing” and is “coming along well,” despite the long-awaited RPG not making an appearance at the company’s latest event.

The details:

  • Speaking with Variety, Booty confirmed that the game is now in a playable state, having visited Bethesda and seen it in action himself. “So I can tell you, having visited Bethesda and sat with Todd and seen Elder Scrolls playing, it looks amazing, and it’s coming along well. And we’ll make sure to announce it and really reveal it at the right time,” he said.
  • Last year, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed that “the majority of the studio’s on VI,” adding that the project had reached a “big milestone internally,” but stressed it is still years away from release.
  • TES 6 was originally announced back in 2018 with a brief teaser trailer that shared no details about the project other than that it was on the way. Howard later stated that the game was confirmed far too early, especially with Bethesda working on Starfield and Fallout 76 along the way.
