Take-Two Interactive

Take-Two Interactive has reported net bookings of $6.72 billion for its latest fiscal year, almost $1 billion ahead of its own guidance, and has signalled it intends to use that financial strength to pursue mergers and acquisitions in the year ahead. The company raised $1 billion via an equity offering and has flagged M&A as a key priority heading into FY27.

The details:

  • Take-Two's net bookings of $6.72 billion came in nearly $1 billion above the company's initial projections for the financial year, driven by strong live service performance across its portfolio including NBA 2K and GTA Online.
  • The company completed a $1 billion public equity offering and has stated its intention to seek out acquisition targets in the coming year, alongside investment in new technology.
  • GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, representing by far the most significant commercial event on Take-Two's near-term horizon. Strong pre-launch financials position the company to absorb the enormous marketing and development costs associated with the release.
  • Take-Two has a history of major acquisitions, most notably the $12.7 billion purchase of mobile giant Zynga in 2022. The company's renewed appetite for deals comes at a time when the broader games industry is experiencing significant consolidation.
