Stellar Blade's PC port is “looked at," but developer ShiftUp cannot talk about it
Shift Up, the studio behind Stellar Blade, acknowledged a potential PC port as a "great way to monetise the IP once again," but said it could not provide any further details due to a "contractual relationship."
The details:
Shift Up CFO Jaewoo Ahn discussed the port during the company's recent IPO press conference (via GameMeca and VGC), stating that it was "currently looking at a PC version of Stellar Blade, which we believe would be a great way to monetise the IP once again." CEO Kim Hyung-Tae added that the developer "cannot comment on the exact timing or whether it will be released due to the contractual relationship."
A public offering filing was discovered on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index in early 2023, in which the studio confirmed that a PC port and sequel could be released in the future. The game is currently exclusive to the PS5, but other Sony-published titles, such as God of War and Ghost of Tsushima, have since appeared on PC, with Sony working to integrate the ports into PlayStation Network.
Stellar Blade was released in April to critical acclaim for its visuals and gameplay, and it sold over one million copies worldwide despite a group of players protesting the alleged censorship of some in-game outfits for protagonist Eve. Future DLC content and collaborations are also confirmed to be in the works.
