Star Wars Outlaws requires an internet connection to install from a disc
Ubisoft Massive's upcoming Star Wars Outlaws will require an internet connection to install, even if you own a physical copy of the game.
The details:
Along with its release date announcement, box art and additional content for Outlaws have appeared on retail websites for those who have pre-ordered the game. Fans quickly noticed that the title's cover says "internet required to install the game" next to its ESRB rating, confirming that players will need to be online to start the game for the first time, but it will be playable offline after that.
Ubisoft confirmed to IGN that this is the case, and it is not the publisher's first time doing so with new releases. Last year, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora had a similar requirement, which also prevented players from installing the game before its digital release.
Although most people have access to the internet to install games and updates, the gaming community has expressed concern about the preservation of games. It has been argued that if Ubisoft or console manufacturers shut down the servers or services used to download the necessary files in the future, console versions of titles may become unplayable.

Blizzard's titles will be available in China again soon, due to a new agreement signed by the publisher with Netease. Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Diablo, and other games were rendered unplayable in the region after the previous agreement fell through last year.
