Sony and Pocketpair found new company, Palworld Entertainment
Pocketpair, the developer of Palworld, has formed a new company called Palworld Entertainment in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and its subsidiary Aniplex.
The details:
According to Sony's press release, Palworld Entertainment was established to "expand and develop new businesses associated with the hit game, 'Palworld.'" This includes "global licensing and merchandising activities" beyond the game itself.
The company's efforts will begin with the creation of exclusive merchandise based on the game, which will be available at Bilibili World in Shanghai beginning Friday, July 12. The merchandise will later become available for pre-order on Aniplex's e-commerce sites.
Despite the partnership with Sony, Palworld has yet to be released on PlayStation, though Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe stated that the company is in discussions to bring it to other platforms. A tweet from the game's community manager in June hinted that a PlayStation version could be on the way soon.
