Remedy files trademark for "Control: Resonant," sparking Game Awards reveal speculation
Remedy Entertainment

Remedy Entertainment has reportedly filed a trademark for “Control: Resonant,” igniting speculation that the next entry in the series could be announced at The Game Awards next month.

The details:

  • As spotted by MP1st, the trademark was filed on Thursday, November 27, by Nordic Attorneys at Law Ltd, the firm behind all of Remedy’s trademarks. It’s believed that Control: Resonant could be the title of the studio’s upcoming Control sequel, which is currently being referred to simply as “Control 2.
  • The timing of the trademark filing has sparked rumors that the title could make an appearance at The Game Awards, which will take place on December 11. Remedy has attended the show in the past, with its appearance in 2023 marked by a dance number.
  • Remedy is currently rebounding from the underwhelming market performance of FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer Control spinoff, and a change in leadership following the resignation of its CEO. The developer is also now working on a remake of the first two Max Payne titles.
