Genki, an accessory manufacturer, appears to be displaying its new cases and controllers at CES with an accurate dummy model of Nintendo's next console, where it has also reportedly shared an alleged release date.

The details:

  • As reported by French news site Numerama, Genki used what is believed to be an accurate replica of the Switch 2 to showcase its upcoming console accessories. According to a company representative, the model was created after it gained access to a real Switch 2, allowing it to create mock-ups of planned accessories such as a docking station and controllers.

  • Genki employees also claimed at the event that the console will be released in April, with actual systems said to already be available on the black market. While Nintendo has yet to reveal the system, it has stated that it will be shown to the public by the end of March.

  • Details about the Switch 2's hardware have been circulating for some time by means of various leaks. Last year, alleged images of the console and its technical specifications appeared online, supporting claims that it would have a larger screen and a new Joy-Con design. More images of what is claimed to be the Switch 2's new Joy-Con emerged last week, showing its previously reported magnetic connection, which can also be seen in a recent Amazon Japan listing from accessories manufacturer Laziro.
