It has been confirmed that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released in October, with the next Pokémon Present showcase scheduled for July.

The details:

  • As announced on X, the follow-up to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus will arrive on October 16. Both the Switch and Switch 2 versions will be available on the same day, with pre-orders for digital copies beginning on June 5. Those who purchase the original Switch version of the game will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 version for an additional fee at a later date, which offers improved performance and resolution.

  • The Pokémon Company has also confirmed that the next Pokémon Presents livestream will be held on July 22. While the exact contents of the showcase have yet to be revealed, fans can expect to learn more about Pokémon Legends: Z-A and possibly details regarding the next generation of mainline Pokémon games.

  • 2026 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, which debuted on the original Game Boy with Red and Green and later Blue version. Fans believe that with the Switch 2 coming out next month and the upcoming celebrations, the next generation of games will be announced soon, especially after the success of Scarlet and Violet, which are now among the franchise's bestsellers.
