Sony has reportedly decided to stop bringing its big narrative single‑player PlayStation exclusives to PC, with future titles like Ghost of Yotei, Saros, and Marvel’s Wolverine expected to remain exclusive to PS5.

The details:

  • Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has reported that PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst told staff in a recent internal town hall that the company’s “narrative single‑player games will now be PlayStation exclusive.”
  • According to a report back in March, Sony was unhappy with the sales performance of PC ports relative to expectations and concerned that releasing more first‑party single‑player games on Steam could “undermine the console’s brand and negatively impact PS5 sales.”
  • Under the new approach, recent and upcoming titles such as Ghost of Yotei, Saros, and Marvel’s Wolverine will not come to PC. Meanwhile, multiplayer and live‑service games will still be released on several platforms, including the likes of Bungie’s Marathon and Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2, which have been relatively successful on PC with crossplay support.
