Persona 4 voice actors seemingly confirm unannounced remake by revealing that they are not involved

Two voice actors from Atlus' original Persona 4 have stated that they will not reprise their roles in the game's rumored remake, which has yet to be publicly announced.
The details:
In a now-deleted post on Bluesky, Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who played Persona 4's Yosuke and later Insomniac's Spider-Man, responded to fans' questions about a Persona 4 remake. He confirmed that he will not be reprising his role, which has led to some speculation, as Atlus has yet to confirm its existence. "And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake," he wrote. "I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back."
Lowenthal is not the only actor who has shared that they will not be appearing in the rumored remake. Chie Satonaka voice actor Erin Fitzgerald has now stated that she has not been asked to reprise the role despite having played the character in the original game, its re-release, and its spin-offs. “For those asking, I have not been asked to reprise my role as Chie Satonaka in the Persona 4 remake. RIP," Fitzgerald wrote. "I am blessed to have recorded as many Persona 4 games as I did playing her."
Neither Sega nor Atlus have publicly announced a Persona 4 remake, but given the success of last year's Persona 3 Reload, it's possible that it could be in the works. The original game was released on the PlayStation 2 in 2008, and while it was later ported to the PS3 as a PS2 classic, the updated P4: Golden was only brought to modern platforms in 2023, after being stuck on the short-lived PS Vita.
