Octopath Traveler 0 announced for a December Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 release

Square Enix has announced a third game in the Octopath Traveler series, Octopath Traveler 0, and it is coming to the Nintendo Switch in late 2025.

The details:

• As announced during Nintendo’s recent Partner Direct, the game will be arriving on December 4 for both the original Switch and the Switch 2. The game is once again set on the continent of Orsterra and features several playable characters with their own backstories with Path Actions that see their journeys cross paths.
• Octopath Traveler 0 will also see the introduction of a customizable player protagonist for the first time, who will be able to “rebuild their hometown after great destruction is brought to it.”
• It’s possible that Octopath Traveler 0 will be a timed exclusive like past titles, with both of its predecessors eventually making their way to Xbox, PC, and PlayStation years after their original launches. However, with Square Enix’s ongoing plans to release more multi-platform games, we may see ports much sooner.
