After it was recently claimed that Nintendo would be pushing back Metroid Prime 4: Beyondโ€™s release as the end of the year grows closer, the company has reaffirmed that the game will arrive in 2025.

The details:

  • Following a rocky development cycle that saw the project rebooted two years after its original announcement, Nintendo finally unveiled Metroid Prime 4 last year, confirming that it would be arriving in 2025. Despite being in the second half of the year, little has been shared about its release date, with a mistake being made during a recent advertisement stating it was โ€œout nowโ€ leading fans to believe the game could arrive very soon.
  • However, YouTuber Reece "Kiwi Talkz" Reilly recently claimed that the game was set to be a launch window title for the Switch 2, resulting in the aforementioned marketing error, but that it was pushed back due to being incomplete. The claims have led fans to believe that as it was not ready for the June launch, itโ€™s likely that more time could be needed for development, pushing the release date to 2026.
  • Despite this, Nintendo has confirmed in a new press release that the game will still be released in 2025 and will be present at this year's Fan Expo Canada. Attendees will be able to play a variety of Switch 2 games at the event, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Metroid Prime 4, which is explicitly stated to be "available later in 2025."
