Last Free Nation media network launched by Thorin and MonteCristo

Independent, talent-owned esports media network Last Free Nation has been launched by Duncan "Thorin" Shields and Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles.

The network: Its programming "defies any single category," per a release.

• Last Free Nation appears to be a reboot of Insight On Esports, the umbrella brand for content produced by Thorin and MonteCristo — two broadcast talents and journalists notorious in the esports industry.
• The company has tapped podcast executive Peter Morris to serve as its CEO. He previously worked as CEO of PodcastOne and has experience from Barstool Sports, Funny Or Die, and IMAX.
• An independent operation, the network is initially utilizing capital from a "high six-figure" sponsorship from Esportsbet.io, per Forbes, and it will seek to raise funding from investors "in the near future."

The talent: Combined, it's said that they have a reach of 3.5M esports fans.

• Its portfolio of shows includes pre-established, popular content like League of Legends podcast Summoning Insight, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive podcast Revenge of By the Numbers, and industry podcast The Four Horsemen.
• Across the shows, Last Free Nation encompasses content featuring the likes of Richard Lewis, Christian "IWillDominate" Rivera, Auguste "Semmler" Massonnat, Wolf Schröder, Daniel "Dgon" Gonzales, and Alex "MauiSnake" Ellenberg.
• As well as its slate of podcasts, the network will produce daily social and short-form digital content and docuseries. A release states that it will offer services including pre-production and creative development, distribution, marketing, advertising sales, sponsorships, subscriptions, merchandise development, and live touring.
• "In an industry controlled by video game publishers and tournament organizers, esports fans crave more than commoditized content, they want to connect with authentic voices," said Thorin said. "Last Free Nation will provide a space for talent of diverse viewpoints to come together to provide honest and entertaining conversations."
