South Korean publisher Krafton has announced that it has acquired 100% of Eleventh Hour Games, the studio behind hack-and-slash ARPG Last Epoch.

The details:

  • In a statement posted to the game’s official forums on Friday, studio founder and game director Judd Cobler confirmed that the developer had been officially acquired by Krafton. “Today I’m excited to announce that Eleventh Hour Games is joining Krafton, the powerhouse behind PUBG, who shares our passion for the action RPG genre and is ready to help fuel our efforts in raising Last Epoch to new heights. With this partnership we will have the opportunity and resources to execute on our goal of creating the very best ARPG in the genre,” Cobler wrote.
  • A Krafton spokesperson also shared the publisher’s plans with the acquisition, confirming that the fully remote studio will continue to operate independently under its existing leadership, with Krafton offering publishing and live-service support. It also revealed that the deal is worth around $96 million USD.
  • Following mixed reactions from Last Epoch players, Cobler has assured fans that Krafton’s current legal battle involving Subnautica 2 developer Unknown Worlds “isn’t something that concerns” the studio.
  • Earlier this month, it was revealed that Unknown Worlds’ founders and senior leadership had left the developer and were immediately replaced, with the trio claiming that Krafton had delayed the game in order to avoid paying a promised $250 million bonus. This has been refuted by Krafton, which has since accused the former developers of “abandoning” the project.
