Kerbal Space Program 2's development team will be laid off in June, says manager
Quinn Duffy, a senior design manager at Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Intercept Games, claims that the studio's team will be laid off next month, following reports of job cuts at Take-Two Interactive.
The details:
According to a new LinkedIn update from Duffy, the studio’s employees will be laid off as of June 28, informing connections that those affected will be searching for new positions. "I got to know the designers pretty well in my all-too-brief time there," the manager said. "These are some fantastically smart and talented people and I'm happy to vouch for their qualities. And I can say the same about the other disciplines - good folks across the board."
Last month, it was reported that Intercept and Roll7 would be shutting down as part of Take-Two's restructuring plans for publishing label Private Division. It was also claimed that the "vast majority" of Private Division's workforce was being let go across four locations.
Despite Bloomberg's report citing internal documents, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick denied any closures in a recent interview. The executive and a representative explained that while the company was laying off staff, it did not provide a "label-by-label breakdown of what that looks like."
