Esports.net is looking for a sharp, experienced, and proactive Esports News Editor to oversee our fast-paced news coverage. This is a pivotal editorial role focused on curating, editing and publishing timely news stories across key titles like Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, and more.

Youโ€™ll work with a diverse team of writers & reporters, ensuring high editorial standards, SEO best practices, and timely delivery of daily news that resonates with hardcore and casual esports fans alike, cementing Esports.netโ€™s position as the go-to site for industry news.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and publish 40 to 60 news articles per week, maintaining consistency, clarity and accuracy.

  • Coordinate coverage across key titles and breaking stories in the esports industry.

  • Maintain editorial quality, fact-checking content and ensuring adherence to SEO best practices.

  • Assign and manage pitches from freelance writers and help shape daily content output.

  • Stay current on game updates, tournaments, team news and scene drama - especially in CS2, LoL, Dota 2 and Valorant.

  • Maintain a publishing calendar and ensure deadlines are met on time, especially during peak news cycles.

  • Collaborate with the wider Content, SEO and Product team to grow Esports.netโ€™s authority as a news destination.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an editor or senior writer in gaming, esports or entertainment media.

  • Deep familiarity with the competitive scenes of at least one major title: CS2, LoL, Dota 2 or Valorant.

  • Strong grasp of SEO, headlines, and web publishing (WordPress).

  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to give constructive feedback to writers.

  • Fast, independent and reliable in a remote environment.

  • Availability on weekends or evenings is a plus.

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of the esports betting space and its unique coverage angles.

  • Familiarity with esports personalities, orgs and the social media drama that drives clicks.

  • Expertise in optimizing content for Google Discover, Google News, and newsjacking trends will be considered a strong asset.

  • Ability to write or contribute news content occasionally during major events or story surges.
