Xbox reportedly publishing new game from Rocksteady co-founders’ new studio
The first game from Hundred Star Games, founded by former Rocksteady co-founders Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, is reportedly being published and funded by Xbox Game Studios.
The details:
As reported by eXputer, the London-based developer's first release will be a "AAA-standard, single-player, action-adventure" game built in Unreal Engine 5. According to the publication, Microsoft has also entered into a partnership with the studio for the project. Xbox will publish the game and also provide financial assistance.
Hundred Star was formed in April 2023, following Hill and Walker's departure from Rocksteady the previous October. Despite reports that its first project is in the works, the studio has yet to be formally announced, with its existence discovered in January 2024 via business site Endole.
According to its listing on Great Place to Work, the studio looks to consist of “only 100 industry veterans and emerging talents,” with its website providing the ability to apply for job positions via email. Currently, it’s claimed that more than 20 employees previously worked alongside the founders at Rocksteady.
