SK Gaming is a leading esports organization and one of the world’s most recognized brands in competitive video gaming. Founded in 1997, "Schroet Kommando" has grown from a passionate group of friends into a successful esports business with offices in Cologne and Berlin, Germany.
We are looking for a Social Media Manager to complete our existing socials team and work with us on coverage of esports tournaments and live events, media days and marketing campaigns. Creativity, deep understanding of current trends and latest memes, and ability to connect with both our fans and our players are among the skills you will need for the position.
Main responsibilities
Working at SK Gaming
Collaborate on developing the SK social media strategy and tone of voice
Create innovative and highly engaging content plans that will contribute to the growth of the SK social media channels
Lead on-site social media content creation for tournaments and media days
Make sure the SK brand values and our partners are always well represented online
Engage with the esports community through every social media platform SK uses (X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
Manage a steady flow of social media content together with the rest of the social media team
Collaborate with other members of the content department (social media, graphics, video) in order to create and publish the most appealing posts and content pieces
Work closely with the partnerships team to create social media strategies that fit both the SK brand and our partners’ goals
Work closely with our players and content creators on building their brand and contributing to the growth of SK’s brand awareness
Stay up to date with the latest social media memes, trends, best practices, updates and algorithm changes
Forward important community feedback and concerns to the relevant SK staff
About you
What we are looking for
Lives and breathes Social Media, Gaming and Esports; Fluent in Memes and TikToks
Minimum 1-2 years experience in social media management in the esports/gaming industry
Excellent knowledge of X, Instagram and short form video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) best practices
Passionate about League of Legends and/or VALORANT with expert knowledge of the LEC, Game Changers, and preferably of their global esports ecosystems
Knowledge of the German Twitch scene and familiarity with the roster of SK content creators is a big plus
Creative, proactive and well-organized, never missing the opportunity to get on the latest meme or leaving the socials calendar empty
Excellent written and verbal English (native level); German is a big plus
Great communication, coordination and multitasking skills, works well under pressure in a very fast-paced environment
Strong copywriting skills
Experience working with the Google Suite, Photoshop and (basic) video editing
Flexible and willing to work outside standard working hours, weekends (often) included, as well as to travel to events when required
Available to work in Cologne (preferred) or Berlin or willing to relocate is a big plus
