Guerrilla Games has 16 “plans” for its Horizon franchise

Guerrilla has stated that it has 16 different plans for the successful Horizon franchise in the future.

The details:

• According to GamesIndustry.biz, several developers at the studio reflected on the development of Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Forbidden West at the Develop:Brighton event on July 12, with studio director and art director Jan-Bart van Beek stating that the series will continue for “a long while.” Guerrilla also revealed during the talk that it has 16 plans for future projects, but did not elaborate on whether these will all be games or if it intends to break into the industry again, as it did with the upcoming Netflix series.
• So far, we know of three franchise-related projects in the works: a co-op multiplayer title, a third mainline entry, and a live-action Netflix series. van Beek acknowledged that the multiplayer project has a significant fan base and revealed that its development has been "a massive shift for the studio, almost on the same level as doing the first Horizon," and that building a multiplayer game in the series' universe, while exciting, is a "whole new challenge for the studio.”
• Guerrilla, best known for the Killzone series, has had massive success with Horizon. In May, it was reported that the second game, Forbidden West, had sold 8.3 million copies as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, bringing the franchise's total sales to 32.7 million, both of these numbers are expected to grow once the game receives a PC release similar to Zero Dawn.
