Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will now release on November 19, 2026, marking the second major delay for one of the most highly anticipated releases in gaming history.

The details:

  • Rockstar Games confirmed the new release date in a statement posted to X, stating that the additional development time will be used to further polish the game following its original delay to May 2026 earlier this year.
  • Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the delay in a statement released alongside the publisher’s latest financial report, adding that Rockstar is “both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience.” “With the most robust pipeline in our Company’s history, we expect to achieve record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which will establish a new baseline for our business and set us on a path of enhanced profitability,” the executive said.
  • Rockstar has been under fire recently after it was accused of union busting following the firing of over 20 employees for alleged “gross misconduct.” A Take-Two spokesperson has responded to the claims, accusing the former staff members of leaking confidential information, while those affected have maintained that the Discord server was explicitly used to discuss potential unionization plans.
