Gamescom 2025 breaks event attendance and live viewer records
Gamescom

Gamescom 2025 has been the event’s most successful year to date in regard to attendance and viewership, with over 350,000 physical attendees and 70+ million people tuning into its Opening Night Live show.

The details:

  • According to the event’s organizers, Gamescom 2025 saw over 357,000 visitors from 128 different countries, up from the 335,000 across 120 countries that attended last year’s show. The event was also attended by more exhibitors this time around, with 1,568 from 72 countries compared to the 1,462 exhibitors from 64 countries in 2024.
  • The impressive statistics don’t stop there, as Gamescom Opening Night Live, the livestreamed reveal showcase kicking off the event, has also seen an 80% growth in viewership. Within a four-day period, the show racked up 72 million views worldwide compared to last year’s 40 million.
  • With the end of E3, Gamescom has become arguably the biggest gaming event of the year alongside Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards when it comes to new game announcements. It allows fans to get hands-on with upcoming titles, with this year’s biggest draw being the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong, which saw large queues to play its short demo.
