Nintendo has announced that beloved platform-adventure title Chibi-Robo will be the next GameCube game coming to its Classics catalog for the Switch 2.

The details:

  • Chibi-Robo will arrive on the service on August 21 and will be the fifth GameCube title available on the Switch 2, following F-Zero GX, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, SoulCalibur 2, and Super Mario Strikers.
  • The game follows Chibi-Robo, a 10 cm tall robot who is tasked with helping out a family with standard household tasks. However, it’s not as easy as it seems, both due to his height as well as his limited battery life, which must be monitored and recharged using plug sockets throughout the game’s levels.
  • Developed by now-defunct Japanese developer Skip Ltd., the game was a commercial flop at the time of release but has since found a dedicated fan base. It later spawned two handheld sequels, both of which were met with mixed reviews, while the original GameCube title has remained one of the most highly requested games for a remaster or reboot.
