It has been reported that FromSoftware is working on a second project alongside its upcoming title The Duskbloods, which could be released as early as next year.

The details:

  • According to MP1st, the Elden Ring developer is currently working on a new unannounced game internally codenamed “FMC,” which is currently in the “advanced stages of production.” The report claims that unless there are any delays, the project is currently on track to be released next year and will be a multiplatform title.

  • While nothing is known about what the project actually is, it’s believed that “FMC” is an abbreviation of a longer codename, with past FromSoft projects following a similar format in the past. For example, Elden Ring was known as “Great Rune” or simply “GR” during its development.

  • While FMC could be a completely new game, it could also be a remaster of Dark Souls 3, which insider Shpeshal Nick claimed was in development last year. As noted by MP1st, this is the most plausible scenario given that FromSoft is already working on future content for Elden Ring Nightreign and The Duskbloods, and has remastered the first two Dark Souls games in the past.
