Former Halo and Destiny composer Marty O'Donnell is running for Congress
Marty O'Donnell, best known for composing the soundtracks to Bungie's Halo and Destiny franchises, has announced that he will run for US Congress as a Republican.
The details:
O'Donnell announced the news on X, stating that he "never wanted to be a politician and still don't," but recent events have made him feel compelled to "step up" after being disappointed by the current US government.
The composer intends to run as a Republican in Nevada's third congressional district against incumbent Democrat Susie Lee in the November House of Representatives elections.
O'Donnell previously stated that he is "retired" after leaving Bungie in 2014 and establishing Highwire Games, the developer of Six Days in Fallujah. With Michael Salvatori, he created some of the most iconic soundtracks in gaming for the Halo series. OβDonnell has been involved in multiple legal battles with Bungie and Microsoft over the years, most recently over the release of the controversial Halo TV series.
