Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is coming to Switch next year

After more than a decade, Nintendo's strange but charming social sim Tomodachi Life will receive a sequel on Switch sometime next year.
The details:
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which was announced during this week's Nintendo Direct, is scheduled to be released for the original Switch in 2026. The game allows players to create their own Mii characters and "watch them live their lives on an island out at sea," which includes forming relationships and engaging in unique and often strange interactions.
The new entry comes more than a decade after the original Tomodachi Life, which debuted globally on the 3DS in 2014 and was a sequel to the Japan-exclusive Tomodachi Collection. It received mostly positive reviews due to its unique premise, emphasis on customization, and in-game comedic interactions. While many fans hoped for a sequel, some of its features were instead later expanded upon in Miitopia and Miitomo.
Though the game is set to be released on the original Switch, fans believe it will be enhanced for the Switch 2, which is expected to arrive before Living the Dream. Following the recent Nintendo Direct, it was discovered that the new page for the console's upcoming "Virtual Game Cards" feature mentions "Switch 2 Edition games," implying that specific titles may be updated to take advantage of the improved hardware.
