Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake will require up to 99 GB in storage on the Nintendo Switch 2, making it the console's largest game to date.

The details:

  • As announced on X, the Switch 2 port of FF7 Remake will require between 90 GB and 99 GB depending on the version purchased, with the additional content from its Deluxe edition taking up several GBs alone. The large size of the game mirrors its Xbox and PlayStation versions, which come in at around 100 GB.
  • However, it's worth noting that this means that if players choose to install the game directly to their Switch 2, they will require almost 40% of its internal storage, as the console ships with just 249 GB of available storage.
  • This makes it the biggest game on the system to date, with other large releases such as CD PROJEKT RED's Cyberpunk 2077 and Ubisoft's Assassin’s Creed Shadows coming in at 57 GB and 61 GB, respectively. Cyberpunk 2077 also includes its Phantom Liberty expansion pack, making the huge size of FF7 Remake even more surprising.
