Devolver Digital delays Baby Steps, Stick It To The Stickman and Skate Story to 2025
Indie publisher Devolver Digital has announced that it is delaying three of its upcoming titles to 2025.
The details:
Devolver confirmed the delays in the most recent edition of its mock showcase, "The 15th Annual Devolver Delayed Awards 2024." The first of the three games that have been delayed is Baby Steps, in which players take on the role of a grown man with baby-like traits, such as difficulty walking, as evidenced by its physics-based movement and the inclusion of a "fully dynamic onesie soilage system." The title is being developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch, and Bennett Foddy of Getting Over It fame, and it will be a surprise if it does not become a huge hit considering how strange of a concept it is.
Next up is Free Livesβ Stick it to the Stickman, which was also featured in last year's Devolver Delayed Showcase. The "groin-kicking, staple-gunning, chainsaw-wielding roguelike brawler" developed by the team behind Broforce sees players fighting off stickmen coworkers with its physics-based combat system as they climb the corporate ladder with the goal of becoming the CEO of the "worst company in America."
The final game to be pushed back is Sam Eng's Skate Story, in which the player takes on the role of a demon skater as they "destroy vicious demons, help a forgetful frog, and save other tortured souls" in The Underworld. Skate Story, like Stick It to the Stickman, was also featured in last year's Delayed Showcase.
Aside from the delays, Developer also highlighted its titles that did arrive this year, including The Plucky Squire, Neva, and Free Lives' Cricket Through the Ages, which are currently on sale for up to 50% off.
