Microsoft has officially released Xbox Mode for Windows 11, allowing users to access a controller-friendly interface to play their games.

The details:

  • As announced in a new Xbox Wire blog post, the mode will be available in “select markets” from today and can be used across all Windows 11 devices, including laptops, desktops, tablets, and handheld gaming devices.
  • Originally designed for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, Xbox Mode introduces a controller-friendly interface similar to that of Steam’s Big Picture mode, allowing players to access their Xbox PC and Game Pass library without using a mouse and keyboard. Users can also add games from other storefronts such as Steam and GOG.
  • "Xbox mode is designed for the moments when you want your games to take center stage on Windows 11 PCs and handhelds,” the blog post reads. “Inspired by the Xbox console experience, Xbox mode offers a streamlined interface that puts your library and recently played titles within easy reach while minimizing background distractions. Since first introducing Xbox mode, formerly known as ‘full screen experience’, on Windows handhelds, we’ve been listening closely to player feedback and continuing to evolve the experience across devices. Those learnings directly shaped Xbox mode on Windows 11 PCs."
