It has been reported that Build a Rocket Boy co-CEO Mark Gerhard has accused a “very big American company” of spending over €1 million on a campaign to sabotage the release of MindsEye.

The details:

  • As reported by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, in an internal meeting that took place late last month, the executive said that the studio had “caught the guys” behind the alleged smear campaign. It’s said that in the video, Gerhard said that the alleged perpetrator is a “very big American company,” but that “it’s probably not the company you’re thinking of.”
  • According to the CO-CEO, UK-based company Ritual Network is behind the campaign, which he claims paid over €1 million to influencers, journalists, and even Build a Rocket Boy employees to damage the reputation of MindsEye and the studio. Among those Gerhard accused of taking payment is Cyberboi, a German YouTuber who he threatened with a cease and desist over a video highlighting accusations against colleague Leslie Benzies following the publication of another batch of the “Epstein Files.”
  • Gerhard allegedly went on to say that those involved will be served criminal complaints soon for “espionage, sabotage, and criminal interference.” However, Ritual Network responded to the claims, stating that it was not aware of any legal proceedings, nor has there been any evidence provided to back up the accusations.
