Cloakzy joins Complexity as co-owner and content creator

Former competitor Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore has joined Complexity Gaming as a content creator and part-owner.

The basics: The former Fortnite competitor has been a hot property for over a year.

• Cloakzy had been linked to 100 Thieves for quite some time, having grown close to the org's co-owners Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag and Jack "CouRage" Dunlop following his departure from FaZe Clan in March 2021.
• He's now joined GameSquare, the parent company of Complexity, as a creator and has obtained a stake in the Texas-based esports organization. His deal mimics the agreement between Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar and Complexity that was announced in September 2021.
• As part of the deal, Cloakzy will host events, create branded content and merchandise, and collaborate with members of Complexity's roster of athletes and personalities.

The larger plan: GameSquare has been building fast since its acquisition of Complexity in June 2021.

• GameSquare acquired Cut+Sew and Zoned, marketing agencies founded by Matt Hilman, Devon Woodruff, and Sean Maher, for $7.85M in July 2021. It counts veteran skateboarder Tony Hawk, Jordan Belfort of Wolf of Wall Street fame, and Conor McGregor's agency Paradigm Sports — led by Audie Attar — as advisors.
• In addition to Complexity and the aforementioned agencies, it owns talent agency Code Red Esports and defunct organization Team Reciprocity (which still owns a CrossFire franchise in partnership LGD Gaming, 40% of Latin American League of Legends franchise Rainbow7, and Gaming Community Network).
• Just in February 2022, it launched production studio Fourth Frame Studios with FaZe Clan's former Vice President of Content Oluwafemi “Femi” Okusanya leading the company. Actor, singer, and dancer Jordan Fisher is serving as the studio's Creative Advisor for Original IP Development.
