Capcom shares details of future Dragon's Dogma 2 performance updates
Following the rough release of Dragon's Dogma 2 last week, Capcom has provided additional information about future updates to the game, addressing technical issues and controversial microtransactions.
The details:
The publisher shared a list of upcoming changes for all platforms on X, including PS5 and PC. This includes the addition of an optional 30 FPS frame rate cap, the ability to toggle motion blur and ray-tracing, and the ability for players to restart a game even if they have an existing save file.
Immediately following the game's release, players flocked to give it a negative review due to the inclusion of microtransactions, which allowed players to purchase items at any time, granting them the ability to fast travel and other useful functions. Capcom plans to increase the number of "Art of Metamorphosis" items available at Pawn Guilds for character customization, but fans have already created mods to address the issues with microtransaction items.
Capcom notes that implementing an FPS cap will not improve the overall frame rate, but the publisher intends to address this in the future. Currently, the game's frame rate is uncapped, making for a very inconsistent and choppy experience, with PC players reporting frequent crashes.
