Capcom's Dragon's Dogma 2 has finally been released, and while many people have been diving into the RPG, others are upset about the high number of microtransactions in the single-player game.

The details:

  • On Steam, Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2 currently sits at a โ€œmixedโ€ review score, with only 40% of the reviews being positive. Many of the criticisms leveled at the game appear to be directed at Capcom's implementation of microtransactions, which include special items, in-game currency, and even the one-time ability to customize a character for a couple of dollars. "Hey Capcom, you can purchase a 'good review DLC' for $1.99," one reviewer wrote.

  • This is not the first time Capcom has included microtransactions in its single-player titles, as Devil May Cry 5 allows players to purchase orbs to level up and buy items, and Resident Evil 4's remake offers "exclusive upgrade tickets" that allow weapons to become overpowered variants.

  • Other negative reviews for Dragon's Dogma 2 focus on its technical issues, with players reporting crashes and low frame rates on high-end hardware. The publisher has acknowledged these issues and stated that it will look for solutions to the problems, which also affect the console releases.
