After several teasers, Activision has officially unveiled Treyarch’s next Call of Duty title, Black Ops 7, set after the events of Black Ops 2.

The details:

  • During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Activision released the first official trailer for the game, confirming that it will be released on November 14 with an open beta kicking off on October 2. The publisher announced that more details about the game and the next iteration of Warzone will be revealed at Call of Duty Next on September 30.
  • The main focus of the trailer was on the campaign, which will be playable solo or in four-player co-op. Set in 2035 following the events of Black Ops 2, you will once again step into the role of David Mason in both the real world and simulated places such as Los Angeles, Angola, Alaska, and Tokyo. It will also notably feature a new endgame PvP mode, where you’re tasked with surviving as long as possible in a new area named “Avalon.”
  • Zombies was also teased with the return of Dead Ops Arcade and the continuation of Black Ops 6’s Dark Aether storyline featuring fan-favorite characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Dempsey, and Takeo.
  • Not much has been shown about multiplayer so far, but it has been confirmed that the futuristic exo-suit-style movement from past COD titles will not be present in the mode, only featuring in campaign and zombies. However, players will be able to wall run and wall jump, blending classic and futuristic movement together.
