Battlefield Studios has announced that Season 2 of Battlefield 6 has been delayed for additional polish, with the update now arriving in mid-February.

The details:

  • Season 1 of BF6 was initially set to conclude on January 20, but it will now be extended by four weeks until February 17, when Season 2 will finally launch. The delay comes as Battlefield Studios determined that Season 2 required additional development time to meet quality standards. "During our ongoing development, we've continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2," a statement posted to the game’s website reads.
  • To ensure players have fresh content during the extended Season 1 period, the developers will be rolling out an "extension update" featuring new weekly challenges, continued Battle Pass progression, daily login rewards, and several Double XP periods. A new event for Valentine’s Day is also planned.
  • A new “Bonus Path” for the Battle Pass called Frostfire will launch on January 27, offering new customization rewards, including a Weapon Package, Soldier Skin, and XP Boosts. This Bonus Path will run alongside the main Season 1 Battle Pass, allowing players to progress through both simultaneously rather than choosing between them.
