Astro Bot is not coming to VR, but its director "wants to hear" from fans regarding a potential PC port
Ahead of the game's release next month, Astro Bot creative director Nicolas Doucet has confirmed that it will not be ported to the PlayStation VR2, but a PC port is possible if players express interest.
The details:
Speaking with MinnMax, Doucet was asked if Astro Bot would ever make its way to VR in the future. "No chance," the director responded. "It's designed for a different medium." When host Ben Hanson pressed Doucet on whether there was a "zero percent" chance, he replied that if it came to VR, "it would be a different game."
Later in the interview, the creative director was asked if he had any message for fans hoping for a PC version of the game. He responded that the team wants to hear from players, implying that it could be a candidate for a Steam release in the future, with minor changes to account for the lack of full DualSense support.
During the interview, Doucet was also asked how many planned cameos did not make it into the final game. While he was unable to provide a specific answer, he did confirm that it was between five and ten. Doucet and Sony have already confirmed some of the mascots that will appear in the title, including Ape Escape's apes, Parappa the Rapper, and even Crash Bandicoot, which is now owned by Microsoft.
