Sega and Creative Assembly have shared a short teaser for the upcoming sequel to beloved horror title Alien: Isolation, suggesting more about the game could be revealed soon.

The details:

  • The teaser video was posted on the official Alien: Isolation social media accounts on Sunday, coinciding with “Alien Day,” an annual celebration of the sci-fi franchise. The short 25-second video features a door opening to a rainy outdoor area containing a phone booth, which is used in the original game as a save station, suggesting the game could take players outside of a space station.
  • Alien: Isolation’s sequel was first announced in 2024, a decade after the release of the original title. “On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear,” Creative Assembly creative director Al Hope said. “Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we’re ready.”
  • Not much has been revealed about the game as of yet, but job listings at Creative Assembly suggest that it is being built using Epic’s Unreal Engine 5, replacing the proprietary Cathode Engine created specifically for the original Alien: Isolation.
