The limited 30th Anniversary Edition PS5 Pro sold out in seconds in the UK earlier today, and the console has already begun to appear on auction sites such as Ebay for thousands of pounds despite having not yet shipped.

The details:

  • To commemorate its 30th anniversary, Sony announced a line of PS5 consoles and accessories featuring the original PlayStation's gray color scheme and multicolor logo. While all stock is limited, it was confirmed that only 12,300 units of the special edition PS5 Pro will be sold worldwide in a bundle with other accessories.

  • As expected, the £960 console bundle sold out in seconds, forcing fans to queue for a chance to purchase the console. Unfortunately, not all of those who were able to obtain a PS5 Pro have good intentions. So far, over 50 consoles have appeared on Ebay with prices ranging from £1,000 to £10,000, with most bundles currently priced between £4,000 and £5,000 at the time of writing.

  • It is unknown how many Pro systems were sold in the UK, as the 12,300 units were distributed across multiple regions. Pre-orders will be available in each region at different sale times through PlayStation Direct and unspecified retailers in areas without an official Direct site.

  • With the exception of the PlayStation Portal, the rest of the collection's hardware has sold out in the UK, including the DualSense, DualSense Edge, and PS5 Slim. Unsurprisingly, these are also being resold but at more "reasonable" markups.
