A member of the team that launched the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 has now spoken about their concerns for the future of the Xbox brand, specifically the hardware side of the business.
The details:
- In a recent interview, Laura Fryer has voiced her concerns about the direction Xbox is going following the announcement of the Xbox and Asus partnership, which will see the launch of two handhelds later this year, the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X.
- Fryer posted a video on her personal YouTube channel explaining that she feels this is Xbox taking a step back from hardware altogether, while claiming that 'Xbox hardware is dead'.
- Fryer goes on to explain how Xbox seems to be focusing more on driving fans to Game Pass and cloud gaming before claiming that it's a gamble that may work, however, Fryer does also say that the current direction Xbox are taking makes her 'sad' that the value she helped create is being 'eroded away'.
