Fnatic, one of Europe's largest and most recognized esports organizations, is exploring a sale that could value it at approximately $100 million USD following approaches from multiple interested parties.

The details:

  • Fnatic, the London-based esports giant founded in 2004, is reportedly working with advisory firm Oakwell Advisory to field interest from potential investors in both minority stakes and full takeovers of the business. According to Sky News, several sports and media investors have expressed interest in a buyout, with Fnatic said to be close to breaking even financially, a rare sight in esports. "As a global leader in competitive gaming, we are constantly evaluating strategic opportunities to scale our international footprint and enhance our performance capabilities," said founder and CEO Sam Mathews. "We remain open to exploring various financing options that align with our long-term vision for the continuous growth of esports and gaming."
  • Despite being a much more stable position than many of its contemporaries, Fnatic's financial filings reveal that revenues declined from €20.5 million in 2023 to €16.5 million in 2024, representing a decline of approximately 20%. News outlet Sheep Esports also reported that in 2023, the club recorded a net loss of €6.37 million, with a smaller loss of €4.4 million in 2024, making the $100 million valuation rather high.
  • Fnatic currently maintains several valuable competitive assets, including its League of Legends European Championship (LEC) slot and a VALORANT VCT EMEA partnership, both of which are worth several millions each. Its global reach has also brought in some impressive collaborations over the years, with the org working with the likes of Hello Kitty and Gucci.
  • Outside of competitive gaming, the organization founded Fnatic Gear, which produced keyboards and mice used by professional players. The division successfully sold over one million products globally before selling the product line to Sony, which integrated it into the INZONE brand in 2025, with INZONE remaining a key sponsor for the team.
