Ubisoft has allegedly updated the PC version of Assassin's Creed Mirage to include the controversial Denuvo DRM technology, though the game's performance appears to have been unaffected.

Fans have discovered that the publisher activated Denuvo via a patch just hours before the game's public release, sparking outrage on social media. X user @TDeckverse has also pointed out that the controversial DRM software was likely missing from or disabled in review copies of the game, with the day one patch being pushed after major outlets had already given the game ratings.
Despite the sneaky new addition, it does not appear that the game's performance has been changed in any way compared to the pre-Denuvo release, with the title reported to have stutters even before the piracy protection software was enabled. Given that Denuvo has a history of causing performance drops and graphical issues, it appears that it shouldn't be noticeable to the majority of players in this case.
Ubisoft is not the only company that has added Denuvo at the last minute, with Capcom updating the Street Fighter 6 Steam store page to confirm its inclusion just a day before launch, prompting fans to express their concerns about potential performance hits in a fighting game reliant on precision.
