Ubisoft announces Siege X, a major overhaul of Rainbow Six Siege

Ubisoft has officially announced Siege X, an upcoming overhaul of Rainbow Six Siege that it describes as "the biggest transformation in the game's history."
The details:
As announced during the 2025 Six Invitational finals, Siege X will usher in a "new era" for Rainbow Six Siege, bringing "new tactical gameplay, graphical and audio upgrades, and more" a decade after its initial release.
Siege X, which is intended to "reinforce [the game's] position at the top of tactical first-person shooters," will be a major overhaul of the current Siege version rather than a sequel. Although it has not been confirmed, leaks and a new teaser for the update indicate that it will be a significant engine upgrade, allowing for improved visuals and physics, as well as long-awaited changes to the game's strong, but sometimes buggy gameplay.
A full livestream showcase for Siege X is scheduled for March 13 at 5pm GMT / 6pm CET, with players, content creators, and developers showing off the game's new additions and changes.
Ubisoft is getting ready for Siege X's upcoming launch with a new season, dubbed "Operation Prep Phase." The season introduces a new operator, Rauora, as well as "Celebration Packs" that allow players to acquire a large catalog of cosmetic items from the past ten years of Siege, including highly sought-after discontinued seasonal skins.
