Ubisoft has outlined a sweeping “company reset” that will cancel six in-development games, delay seven more, and close two studios, as the publisher restructures its operations into new “creative houses” and continues cutting costs.

The details:

  • Ubisoft has announced what it describes as a major organizational and portfolio reset that will see the publisher split its creative operations into five genre-focused “creative houses.” The company says that the move will allow it to “reclaim its creative leadership” and “drive a sharp rebound” after a rough few years financially.
  • The new creative houses will all have individual leadership teams, with the goal of giving each team “end-to-end” responsibility for its portfolio, covering production, publishing, and financial performance. CH2 is focused on competitive and cooperative shooters such as The Division, CH3 handles live-service games including For Honor and The Crew, CH4 is dedicated to narrative-driven titles like Prince of Persia and Beyond Good & Evil, and CH5 will work on casual projects such as Just Dance.
  • Due to the change, Ubisoft has discontinued six projects that it believes failed to meet the quality it expects from its games. These include the much-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, one mobile title, and four unannounced games. It’s said that three of the unannounced titles were set to be all-new IPs.
  • Seven other titles in Ubisoft’s pipeline have been delayed to “ensure enhanced quality benchmarks are fully met.” According to the publisher, one of the delayed projects is an unannounced title that was set to be released before April 2026 and is now planned to arrive before April 2027 as part of a comprehensively revised three-year roadmap.
  • Ubisoft Stockholm and Halifax are also being closed as a result of the restructuring, and the publisher has stated that it may be open to selling some of its assets in the near future.
