Following the release of the second batch of songs from the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 soundtrack, Hawk addressed fan concerns, stating that he chose to add new music rather than stick with the original soundtracks.

The details:

  • Last week, Activision revealed "Wave Two" of the 3+4 soundtrack, which includes numerous new additions from both new and old artists such as 100 gecs, Fontaines D.C., and Iron Maiden. However, fans have pointed out that, as with the first wave, there is a lack of classic tracks from the games' original releases, such as Ramones' Blitzkrieg Bop, NWA's Express Yourself, and Goldfinger's Spokesman.

  • Birdman has now confirmed that he was the reason so many tracks were omitted, and some artists have returned with new songs. In a comment on the game's official Instagram post about the soundtrack, Hawk stated that, like in the original games, he hopes the new soundtrack will introduce players to new artists. “It was my choice to pick some different songs by the same artists featured in THPS3+4 OST,” he wrote. “I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun and a big reason that these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride. More to come… both old and new.”

  • Unsurprisingly, Hawk appears to have had a significant impact on the game's development, as has been the case with most, if not all, previous titles in the franchise. Recently, it was reported that Jackass star, former professional skater, and Hawk's long-time friend Bam Margera will be included in the game despite not being named as a returning skater in the roster reveal. It was claimed that Hawk personally demanded that Activision add Margera despite the fact that the game was almost complete, prompting the publisher to make a last-minute change.
