T1’s League of Legends roster has made history, becoming the first-ever team to win the tournament consecutively three times, with legendary player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok lifting his sixth Worlds trophy.

The details:

  • On November 9, T1 took down classic “Telecom War” rival KT Rolster in a 3-2 victory in Chengdu, marking the organization’s, and subsequently Faker’s, sixth League of Legends World Championship.
  • Not only has the tournament continued to prove that Faker is the greatest player in the history of the esport, but it has also brought his teammates, Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, deeper into the conversation as the best players of all time in their respective roles, all of whom now join Faker and former SKT T1 player Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong as three-time champions. This is also the first Worlds title for the team’s newest addition, Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon.
  • The win also marks the first time in the esport’s history that an organization has won the competition three times in a row. Previously, only T1’s predecessor, SKT T1, had won multiple titles consecutively but had been denied the third trophy in 2017 by Samsung Galaxy, which would later become current rivals Gen.G Esports.
