French publisher and gaming accessories manufacturer Nacon has announced that it has filed for insolvency proceedings after a major shareholder failed to make a loan repayment.

The details:

  • Nacon announced that its available assets "do not allow it to meet its due liabilities," resulting in the company filing for insolvency with the court and requesting the opening of judicial reorganization proceedings. Last week, its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive, failed to make a partial repayment of its bond loan to bondholders, attributed to "an unexpected and late refusal by its banking pool." " Bigben Group currently owns 76.7% of Nacon.
  • Nacon states that the proceedings will allow it to “ensure the sustainability of the company’s activity under the best possible conditions, protect employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework.” The company's share price was suspended last week following the news of Bigben’s failure to repay its debts, and it will remain suspended for the foreseeable future.
  • The filing comes just days before the publisher's scheduled Nacon Connect presentation on March 4, 2026, and roughly two weeks ahead of Greedfall 2's planned full 1.0 version release. The event is set to reveal several new titles and share more details regarding other games in its lineup and is still set to go ahead despite the ongoing situation.
