Spiders, the French studio behind GreedFall, Steelrising, and The Technomancer, is reportedly being shut down after parent company Nacon has failed to find a buyer during its insolvency process.
The details:
- As reported by French outlet Origami, several sources have shared that its employees are now wrapping up their final pieces of work at the studio and that the liquidation process is a "mere formality at this stage." The closure would result in around 75 job losses.
- The news comes amid ongoing financial issues at Nacon, which filed for insolvency in late February after its parent company failed to repay debts. As a result, it was forced to delay its showcase for all upcoming projects and list some of its properties for sale, including Spiders.
- Spiders, founded back in 2008, has been known in recent years for GreedFall and Steelrising, with GreedFall 2 being its latest release after it launched in early access back in March, leaving its future up in the air following the studioβs closure.
