Starfield is now available for preloading on Xbox, and it comes in at over 100 GB

Bethesda has confirmed that Xbox and PC players will be able to preload its latest title beginning August 17, but both platforms will require more than 100 GB of free storage.

The details:

• Starfield has officially gone gold, according to Bethesda, with preloading now available for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC players. Those who want to play the game through Steam will have to wait until the end of the month, on August 30, to download it before it launches on September 6.
• The size of the installs for the title, however, has piqued the interest of fans, with it measuring 126.1 GB on Xbox and an even bigger 139.84 GB on PC. It's unclear why the PC version is nearly 15 GB larger, but it's most likely due to multiple visual elements such as higher-quality textures, with graphic options mostly restricted on the Xbox version.
• All versions of the game can be preloaded, including the Standard Edition, which will also be available through Xbox Game Pass, the Digital Premium Edition, and the $300 Constellation Edition, with the latter two providing fans with five days early access to the RPG on September 1.

• A decade-old Grand Theft Auto Online beta has been discovered and made playable via the Xenia emulator. The game's build is similar to the final release, but it includes many cut features and alterations from the final version released in October 2013.
