IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios announced on August 20 that 007: First Light has crossed 4 million units sold since its May 27 launch, making it one of the fastest-selling premium games of 2026 and the second highest-selling title in the US year-to-date behind only Resident Evil Requiem.

The details:

  • First Light reached 4 million in roughly 90 days, a strong result for a new IP entry in a licensed franchise without a prior game in the series from this studio.
  • It currently sits second in US year-to-date sales behind Resident Evil Requiem, which has sold 7 million units. Both are premium-priced titles with no free-to-play component.
  • A Switch 2 version is confirmed and coming later in 2026, though no date has been announced. The milestone was revealed ahead of that release, suggesting IO Interactive is using the momentum to build anticipation.
  • IO Interactive, best known for the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy, took on the James Bond licence after the series' previous game rights expired. First Light is the studio's first Bond release.
